Last updated: 20.09.2026

This notice explains how personal data is processed by the open port checking service at openportcheck.com. The operator is established in Türkiye, so processing is governed by Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK); if you are in the EU/UK, the GDPR rights described below apply to you as well.

Data controller

OpenPortCheck (openportcheck.com)

Data we process

  • The IP address of your connection and the country derived from it
  • Browser and operating system type, the page you visited and the time of the visit
  • The target you tested (IP address or hostname), the ports you selected and the result
  • For admin panel users: username, password hash, sign-in records and an audit log

No special categories of personal data are processed, and no cookies are used for advertising or profiling.

Purposes

  • Running the port test you requested and showing you the result
  • Preventing abuse of the service (hourly quotas, protection against brute force and scanning misuse)
  • Keeping the service secure and available, and investigating faults
  • Producing aggregated usage statistics

Legal basis

Processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the controller and for providing the service you requested (KVKK art. 5/2-(f) and 5/2-(c); GDPR art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)). No separate consent is collected: only the minimum data required to run the service is processed.

Cookies

The site sets one strictly necessary session cookie. It protects form submissions (CSRF protection), is deleted when you close your browser, and is not used for advertising or tracking.

Retention

Visit and scan records are kept for a reasonable period so that abuse can be detected and security incidents investigated; expired records are deleted from the admin panel. Administrator sign-in records and the audit log may be kept longer for security reasons.

Transfers

Personal data is never sold or shared for marketing, in Türkiye or abroad. The following services may be involved in delivering the site:

  • If the site is served behind a content delivery network (Cloudflare), requests pass through it.
  • Country flag images are loaded from an external image service (flagcdn.com).
  • The country of a target address may be looked up through an IP geolocation service for that purpose only.

These providers are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, to request information about it, to learn the purpose of processing, to know the third parties to whom it is transferred in Türkiye or abroad, to have incomplete or inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure or destruction where the conditions are met, and to claim compensation if you suffer damage because of unlawful processing (KVKK art. 11). Under the GDPR you additionally have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Contact

Send requests relating to your rights to: (fill in the privacy contact address under Settings in the admin panel) Your request will be answered within 30 days at the latest.

Terms of use and liability

This tool may only be used on systems you own or are authorised to test. If you scan systems without permission, the responsibility is yours; where abuse is detected, access may be restricted and records may be shared with the competent authorities.
